A few years ago, I was convinced that Valentines Day had been created to torture single people. As February 14th approached, the TV and Radio ads got worse and worse. When Valentines Day arrived, I had the pleasure of watching the flower bouquets float past my office on their way to everyone else. The next day was full of exciting stories of romantic gifts and dinners that my coworkers had experienced the night before.

Even the once-most-bonded of soul-mates can feel trapped in a stale marriage as the years pass. Though we still love our mate, we might feel bored with the routine. Don’t just rekindle the romance, or fan the flames, add kerosene to the fire of it, and use Valentine’s day as a celebration of love, a reason to try something different, and then make it a habit, a new way of life to change the parameters and depth of the relationship.
