Step One: Creating the Guest List
Firstly “borrow” the bride-to-be’s address book and call all the names you feel you are familiar with her closest friends and family or as many names as you can comfortably accommodate in your house and in your budget.
Remember, not everyone will be able to come, so remember that. Studies shows, that apart from close friends, co-workers and family members, about 30% of second tier friends will show up.. Everyone has so many social commitments already that assume less than half of the people you invite to actually show up.
Step 2 on How to Throw a Bridal Shower: The Bridal Registry
When sending out the invites, always place a note as to where the couple has registered for gifts so that’s they don’t get three toasters and four waffle makers! And don’t forget to include a RSVP card or call and make sure that your guest count is accurate
Step 3 on How to Throw a Bridal Shower: Plan the Venue
Depending on the length of the guest list and the budget, decide if you want to host an intimate, cozy affair at hoe or have a more sophisticated and formal event at a restaurant or club house.
Step 4 : Deciding on Food
Depending on the venue, make plans on catering the food, cooking it yourself or asking everyone to bring in a dish. If you choose the last option, always coordinate what each person is bringing so that you do not end up with four desserts and no salad. Assign one item to each person
Step 5: Whip up Games
Don’t just go the old party games search the we and try to find something a bit more interesting then “the Usual” thats right make this nights entertainment memorable. One Game that good for showers is the scrap booking game. Basically ask each guest to make a scrapbook page for the bride putting them all together and give it at the bridal shower.
