1. Do not hesitate to go up and talk to her by waiting for that perfect moment when she is alone. Even if she is interested in you if you haven’t won her friends over they will pull her away from you.
2. Do not gaze at her for more than three seconds before you approach. Delay any longer than this, and you might creep her out or manage to convince yourself that you shouldn’t talk to her.
3. Don’t be apprehensive to approach her because she is surrounded by a group with some men in it. Usually, after you meet everyone you’ll learn that these guys are family, friends, or co-workers.
4. Never begin a conversation with a woman by saying sorry. Expressions such as “Excuse me ” “Pardon me ” and “I’m sorry, but” make you seem like a beggar.
5. Never come on to her or give her a generalized compliment. Use the much more engaging method of telling a compelling anecdote or asking an intriguing question. For example you might ask the group to think of names for a three-legged cat or a store that sells 70’s memorabilia. You might think it sounds dorky, but everyone delights in offering their opinion on a topic.
6. Never, ever purchase a cocktail for her. A real man doesn’t need to purchase a woman’s attention.
7. Under no circumstances should you touch or grab her immediately. If she touches you, retort, while smiling, “Watch it, hands off the goods.”
8. Don’t lean in or orbit around her. Stand up tall, no slouching, and if the music is too noisy or she’s seated, simply speak louder.
9. Avoid asking what her name is, what she does for work, or where she’s from. She’s sick of talking about the same boring stuff with all the guys that approach her.
10. Don’t focus all your attention on her when she’s with other people. If you win her friends over, you’ll win her.
